推荐信(KL)范文(一)

Dear Admissions Officer,

I feel pleased to write this recommendation letter for Mr. XX, in support of his application for your master program. In my opinion, Mr. XX has fully prepared to meet the challenges in his further academic pursuit. In view of his strong thinking capability and insatiable hunger for new knowledge, I believe that he will be an invaluable addition to your master program.

I have known Mr. XX since he took my course An Introduction to Linguistics in 2009. It is a demanding course because students are required to complete presentations and write some reports in addition to class discussions. With diligence and enthusiasm, Mr. XX grew tremendously through this course. I clearly remember his outstanding performance in his final presentation about intercultural communication and Teaching Chinese as a Second Language. Combining education and language, he talked about educational issues under an intercultural situation, pointing out that every language and its users should be respected, which would conduce to the elimination of conflicts among people and society. As a matter of fact, from my years of teaching experiences, I rarely found such an in-depth analysis from undergraduate students.

Besides his academic excellence, I am also very impressed on his strong language sensitivity, leadership and patience demonstrated in my research program ‘Corpus of Oral Chinese in Natural Communication’ and ‘Corpus of Oral Chinese Inter-Language’. Paying close attention to Chinese language used as a second language by foreigners, Mr. XX led a group in this program to make an investigation on substantial differences occurred among foreign students due to their unique cultural backgrounds. Along with his partners, he designed the useful questionnaire, which covered object personal information, topic types, language style and scenes etc. Then he recorded oral Chinese in natural communication and did research on collected information. The corners and spots where the differences hid have been found by his strong sensitivity of language precisely and promptly. Then according to the difference, he also gave much useful suggestion to foreign students, helping them to avoid barriers in intercultural communication.

I am proud to recommend you this gifted young man. Your favorable consideration of his application will not only bring diversity and fresh blood to your program, but also help Mr. XX grow into a mature young man who would make great contributions to intercultural education.

Sincerely yours,
